Punggol Digital District - SINGAPORE
Architect: WOHA
Developer: JTC
Description: This is one of the largest projects awarded in Singapore in 2017, and comprises a creative cluster of offices, student accommodation, bus interchange and other places of learning in Punggol in Singapore.
Punggol Digital District (PDD) is a mixed-used development of over 350,000 m² consisting of 25m deep basement, 10 towers up to 15 storey high and an underground MRT station. With a budget of S$ 1.7Billion, the development includes an IT-focused business park, bus interchange, underground 66kV, other critical infrastructure as well as a 10-storey high CLT building.
The structure and environment of the project are integrated such that the overall carbon footprint (embodied and operational) is optimized. Estensive adoption of precast construction was deployed in the design for all structural elements to facilitate off-site fabrication, reduce time of construction and limit site activities. Promotion of sophisticated design techniques have also helped lower cost as well as environmental impact of the building structure.
Total Construction Cost: S$ 1.7 Billion
Completion Date: 2024
