Web Structures has designs on London expansion

Web Structures’ London office continues to build a growing portfolio of projects as it works with leading UK-based architects like Rogers Stirk Harbour and Partners on exciting new developments around the world.

Just 18 months after opening its new European headquarters, Web Structures is looking to expand its Thames Wharf office and strengthen the team based in the UK capital.

The office has led projects in Singapore and Taiwan with Rogers Stirk Harbour and Partners, as well as working on three major resort developments with Heah and Co in China and the Caribbean.

Its varied portfolio has also included refurbishment work in London with CarverHaggard and the team has contributed to Web Structures’ work in Goa with the London-based architecture practice 1508 London and Kolkata in India, as well as in Singapore and Malaysia.

Dr Hossein Rezai, Web Structures group director, says: “The diversity of the projects our London team has been engaged with in the past 18 months has been very encouraging.

“We have also had two sets of staff from our Singapore and KL offices spending short stints in the London office and this has been rewarding for them both professionally and personally.

“It’s exciting for them to go downstairs to what we call our ‘staff canteen’ – the River Café – and bump into such luminaries as Richard Rogers!”

Looking ahead, he added: “We have expanded staffing levels in London and are looking to strengthen our team with new recruitment and the relocation of staff.

“The next six months in London are set to be an exciting time for the Web Structures team in the UK capital as we look to expand our current premises.

“And while we continue to explore new possibilities, we are also nurturing existing clients and projects by offering the high standard and passionate service that is the hallmark of Web Structures.”

Announcing the opening of the office 18 months ago Dr Rezai explained: “It makes logistical sense for us to have a base in London given the amount of work we are involved in across the world with the top architectural firms that are based in the city.”

Web Structures has worked closely with top British architects including Foster and Partners, Rogers Stirk Harbour and Partners, David Adjay, Zaha Hadid and Conran and Partners on major developments across the globe.
