Dande-lier @ i Light Marina Bay

On March 3rd, the iconic Marina Bay area was lit with light art installations created by both Singaporeans and international artists. i Light Marina Bay, Asia’s leading sustainable light art festival has been running since 2010 and is a showcase of light installations created by artists from Singapore and around the world. Installed around the Marina Bay waterfront, the light art installations are designed with energy-saving lighting or environmentally-friendly materials to reinforce Marina Bay’s position as a sustainable precinct and serve as reminders to encourage festival goers and the general public to adopt sustainable habits in their everyday lives.

Singapore-based design consultancy Colours: Collectively Ours, collaborated on a piece called Dande-lier with Web Structures. Sited at the Esplanade waterfront, Dande-lier is an installation made of umbrellas shaped collectively to form a huge dandelion, into which visitors can walk. The designers hope that the “warped” view from within might just change an audiences “view of the world”.
